Once again, San José State University has excelled in the U.S. News & World Report college rankings. The 2009 edition of "America's Best Colleges," now available at newsstands and online, shows San José State ranked 13th among the West's top public universities offering bachelor's and master's degrees. SJSU ceded five places from eighth last year, but remains very well regarded in a competitive field comprised of the world's top public higher education systems.
Also, San José State made Computer World's IT Schools to Watch 2008. The story emphasizes that SJSU's computer engineering department does a spectacular job at melding theory and practice. "My employer was very impressed with the designing, the application area and the technology that I used in my [master's degree] project," SJSU graduate and AT&T analyst Deepti Lalwani told the magazine. "Many companies are still trying to adopt the technology that I used."
