The first 25 students who are part of the $1 million Global Technology Initiative,
established by the College of Engineering, left for Taiwan and China this past
weekend. Led by faculty and industry sponsors, the two-week tour will include
opportunities for students to learn from international business leaders. Sponsored
by business leaders in the high-tech community who have strong ties to Silicon
Valley and the Asia Pacific region, the initiative, announced in December 2003,
was created to help SJSU students gain international knowledge and skills, and
a first-hand global perspective on technology and business developments.
