Bio
I completed my PhD in Sociology from Syracuse University in May 2019. My research
focused on philanthropy and volunteerism in the Indian American community here in
the San Francisco Bay Area. In addition to this work, I have spent time in India for
language training and research projects. Fall 2019 will be my first time teaching
at SJSU, but I have previously taught courses at Syracuse University, Ohlone College,
and Empire State College, State University of New York.
I have been living in the Bay Area since 2011 and call it home. In addition to teaching
at SJSU, I also works full time at Second Harvest of Silicon Valley as a Corporate
Philanthropy Officer. Let me know if you have any questions about a career in the
non-profit sector!
