Bio
This Spring 2014 I will be teaching two sections of UNVS 16C (the second half of Statway).
I will also be working on mathematical research with CAMCOS in partnership with NASA-Ames.
We will be studying discrete Morse theory as applied to the distribution of galaxies.
Currently I am working on my masters thesis on the topic of Möbius Transformations
and Riemann Surfaces. I plan to defend my thesis in spring 2014. I was a graduate
student Teaching Associate from fall of 2011 until spring of 2013. I taught College
Algebra (Math 8) three times and also facilitated calculus workshops as well as developmental
math labs. In fall of 2012 I led a team of graduate students on an applied mathematics
research project for Volkswagen. In addition to my 2 years of teaching at SJSU,
I also have extensive experience tutoring middle school and high school students in
after-school programs, as well as summer math programs. I am very excited to be teaching
two sections of Statway (UNVS-16) for the 2013-2014 school year.
