Bio
WELCOME!!
I have more than 40 years experience working with bilingual children who have a variety of speech and language disorders, and their families. I have been a full-time professor at SJSU since 1997, and have taught there part-time during several years before that.
I have written, and lectured extensively locally, nationally and internationally on topics related to bilingualism and speech and language disorders, assessment and treatment as well as collaboration with interpreters and translators in the field of communicative disorders.
I provide clinical services in Spanish, French, and occasionally in Polish.
With my colleague Terry Irvine Saenz from CSU Fullerton we will be publishing a new edition of a previous book on best practices in working with interpreters and translators in our field. The title is Working with interpreters and translators: A guide for speech-language pathologists and audiologists.. It will be available in October 2015 through Plural Publishing.
I will be happy to respond to your questions or comments. Please contact me through the e-mail listed above. I look forward to hearing from you.
