Bio

Dr. Hartle’s research investigates environmental exposures and their effects on human health, with a special focus on environmental exposures from the food system. Her research interests are in exposure science, risk assessment, and environmental epidemiology and how they can be used to inform environmental health and food system policy.

Dr. Hartle’s current research efforts work to enhance the body of knowledge about everyday exposures to environmental chemicals, such as endocrine disruptors in our food, and their impact on human health. Jennifer aims to strengthen dietary exposure assessment techniques by integrating her knowledge of exposure pathways and her work in nutrition research. By developing better methods to recognize exposure sources, Dr. Hartle's research hopes to elevate our ability to build a clear connection between exposures and diseases to inform exposure prevention strategies and policies.
