Bio

Jessie Pickett a licensed broadcast engineer He currently holds a FCC General Class licensee. He was Chief Engineer of radio station WELX –AM and WHBM-FM in Xenia, Ohio. He became the afternoon disc jockey and asst Chief Engineer at radio station WKAI-AM-FM IN Macomb Ill. He was a maintenance and production engineer for WGEM-TV-AM-FM in Quincy Ill. He was a TV, Film and maintenance engineer for Forward Production and WRAU-TV Peoria Ill. Jessie spent 18 years as an engineer for WGN TV and AM 720. The stint included being an Engineer in Charge of Remote television. The job included managing crews for Cubs and Sox Baseball, Blackhawk hockey. Jessie was placed in charge of crew for parades and special events crews and set ups. Jessie also did satellite and microwave feeds from all over the U.S. He became the main Program content editor and master control supervisor at America One Television in Ft Worth TX. There he managed digital automation systems and content management for over 200 low powered TV station, Jessie did a short stint for Hewlet Packard as technical support reprehensive for corporation and individuals. He then went to work for the News Corporation, FOX Television network . The station KSAZ FOX 10 and KUTP UPN 45. These stations were the first duopoly automation by FOX. Jessie was hired specifically to be the first person to debug and run this facility. This was due to his previous experience with dual station operation and satellite expertise . He is currently the Electronic and Print News Technology Specialist, in the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, at San Jose State University. He is currently pursing the first part of a PHD in Mass Communication. He is charged with upgrading the department’s technology for the next generation of News, print, TV, radio, magazine and online. Jessie is also an adjunct professor in the School of Journalism and Mass Communication. He teaches videography , digital media production for broadcast and the web.
