Bio

I study how socio-technical systems shape young people’s experiences in online, play-based communities. My work brings together Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Developmental Science, and Learning Sciences to understand how emerging technologies can better support youth socio-emotional development. I use mixed methods, design-based approaches, and community-engaged research to design and study developmentally appropriate technologies for early adolescents, especially youth ages 8–14.
