Bio
Michelle Hager is the Writing Center Director at San José State University. She earned her B.A. and M.A. in English and Certificate in Professional and Technical Writing from San José State University. She taught college-level writing for over twelve years, and she has over ten years of experience in writing center administration. Prior to becoming the Writing Center Director in July 2013, she served for four years as the Writing Center Associate Director. She has also worked with the SJSU Writing Across the Curriculum program to develop and supervise the course-embedded writing tutors program (Writing Fellows), which is now housed in the Writing Center. She has presented at national and regional conferences, including the Conference on College Composition and Communication (CCCC), the Northern California Writing Centers Association Conference (NCWCA), the CSU Tech Conference, and the Asian Pacific Americans in Higher Education Conference (APAHE). She also completed the intensive International Writing Centers Association (IWCA) Summer Institute in 2021. In 2019, she served as the program chair for the NCWCA Conference, which was hosted at San José State University.
