Bio
Dr. Seiichiro Inaba was born and raised in Japan and received his Ph.D. in Linguistics from the University of Hawaii in 1996. His areas of specialization are Japanese Linguistics and Phonological Theory. He also has expertise in foreign language methodology and diverse experience teaching business Japanese.
Dr. Inaba came to San José State University from its sister school Cal State Fullerton in 1998. He is an advisor of the Japanese Program. He teaches Japanese language courses at all levels, as well as culture and linguistics. His current research interests include the theoretical study of Japanese rhythmic structures and its application to rhythmic instructions for learners of the language.
