For older historical proposals, we are building a virtual archive (SJSU authentication required).
Course Impact Reports

Modern Campus Curriculum/Curriculog FAQs
Q: How do I access Modern Campus Curriculum/ Curriculog?
A: Log in: https://sjsu.curriculog.com/ using university credentials. It is also accessible through one.sjsu.edu/.Q: Why am I getting notifications and how can I manage them?
A: Notifications go to users who are originators and approvers in the proposal process.See the next question for steps to change the frequency of your notifications in Curriculog. If you think you are receiving notifications in error, please contact: curriculum@sjsu.edu.Q: I'm getting lots of notifications from Modern Campus Curriculum/ Curriculog. (Or: I'm not getting notifications from Curriculog.) Can I change that?
A. Yes. You can change your settings so that you get notifications related to proposals on your list less frequently or more frequently. The options are to get all emails or to get a digest daily, on Monday/Wednesday/Friday, on Tuesday/Thursday, or weekly. To change your notification settings in Curriculog:- Go to your name on the top right.
- Select “My Settings” from the drop-down menu.
- Click on your name on the left (“My Dashboard” will be to the right of it).
- Scroll down to the “Email Options” dropdown menu in the "User Rights" section and select another option, such as "Weekly Email Digest". This will send each email notifications out in a weekly digest.
- Click the "Save Preferences" button.
Q: I submitted a proposal and have tracked its progress, but now I no longer see it on My Proposals, My Watchlist or All Proposals. What happened to it? (Viewing a completed proposal)
A. In all likelihood, your proposal has made it all the way through the approval process and now has the status of Completed. When proposals are Completed, they no longer appear as active proposals on those various lists. However, you can still view them. Go to the All Proposals tab and use the “Filter by” feature to filter by Proposal Status; choosing Completed under Proposal Status will bring up a list of Completed proposals. If your proposal is not among them, please contact us so we can find out what happened to it.Q: How do I view the edits that have been made to a proposal?
A. Under user tracking select "view original with edits” from the drop down menu.Q: I submitted a proposal a long time ago and haven’t heard anything about it. What should I do?
A. You can find out where the proposal is sitting in the approval process by going into the proposal itself, clicking on the “Status” icon in the Proposal Toolbox on the right side of the proposal, and scrolling down. If you like, you can then query the person whose Status is listed as “Working.”Q: Who can view my proposal and who can edit it?
A. Anyone with access to SJSU Curriculum/Curriculog site can view any proposal that has been submitted. Only people who are in the approval workflow can edit a proposal, and they can only do so when the proposal is at their review step.Course Proposals FAQs
Q: We are submitting a program change that involves new courses and/or changes to course numbers. Which do I do first, the course change forms or the program change form?
Q: We are submitting a program change that involves new courses and/or changes to course numbers. Which do I do first, the course change forms or the program change form?A. Either way is fine. It is recommended to submit them simultaneously. If you've submitted the courses and they have entered the Catalog, you can place them into your program curriculum proposal. If the courses you need for the program change are not yet approved and in the Catalog, please enter them as placeholders in the proposed program curriculum. Do that by selecting "custom text" in the Curriculum Schema and entering a placeholder number (a combination of number and two X's works best, such as ENGL 2XX - Horror Stories). This will be replaced once the course has been approved or entered the Catalog.Keep in mind that each new course included in a program change must go through its own individual approval process.
Q: We had new courses and changes to existing courses listed as part of a program change. The program changes were approved. Does that mean the new courses and course changes are now approved, too?
A. No. Programs and courses get reviewed separately; your overall curriculum has been approved, but the individual courses need to be submitted, reviewed and approved, in order to enter the Catalog and your program curriculum.Q. How do I determine the Course Components & Classifications?
A. Visit https://www.sjsu.edu/curriculum/courses/course-classification.php.Q. Where do I view university policies relevant to all courses at SJSU?
A. https://www.sjsu.edu/curriculum/courses/syllabus-info.phpQ. How do I establish Course Learning Outcomes (CLOs)?
A. Visit https://www.sjsu.edu/curriculum/courses/course-learning-outcomes.php.Q. What is difference between Pre/Corequisites and Enforced Requisites/PS Screening?
A. Prerequisite: A course or requirement that must be completed before taking another course.
Corequisite: A course that must be taken at the same time as another course.
Enforced Requisite/PS Screening: Classes can be set up in PeopleSoft to block students from enrolling if they have not completed the pre/corequisites.This is not recommended for courses expecting transfer student enrollment. Because credit transfer is often not completed until mid-semester, these students would be blocked from enrollment and require permission numbers to register.
Curriculum Office does not select "Exclude in-progress credit" for the listed requisites- which means that students that are in progress of completing the pre/corequisite can enroll in the course. The program/department can contact Curriculum Office to select this option - this would mean that students that are in progress of completing the prerequisite will not be able to enroll until their grades are posted.
Q: We want to reinstate a course that was removed earlier from the catalog. How do we do that?
A. You can do that by submitting the Course Reactivation.Q: We want to remove a course that is no longer offered from the catalog. How do we do that?
A. You can do that by submitting the Course Inactivation.Q: We want to change a course number. How do we do that?
A. You can use the Course Modify to submit a course number change. Be sure the course number you want to switch to is available. Visit https://www.sjsu.edu/curriculum/courses/course-numbers.php.Program Proposals FAQs
