Co-Design Session for Creative Futures! September 11th from 6-8 pm
Creative Futures is a project that will run throughout the 2025/26 academic year, focused on integrating AI into Design curricula while prioritizing ethics, critical thinking, and craft.
Professors Khatibi, Ensaniat, and Ragouzeos will be hosting the first (of 6) Creative Futures Co-Design Sessions on September 11 from 6-8 pm. These sessions bring students, faculty, and staff together to explore how AI can be integrated into design education in ways that support creativity, critical thinking, and professional growth. And there will be FOOD!
In this first session, we’ll discuss how AI can enhance creativity, efficiency, and
learning while preserving each designer’s unique voice. Your input will directly guide
new classroom practices and ethical guidelines for design at SJSU.📍 Location: Art

In Process: Evolving Design with AI and Beyond
Mark your calendars for October 3, 2025, the SJSU Design Department is hosting In Process: Evolving Design with AI and Beyond. This interdisciplinary design symposium will take place all day at Adobe's Founder's Tower in San Jose, CA. We'll explore, through concrete examples, concerns about ethics and equity, how current and future technology developments will change how we collaborate and create, and what we can learn from the past to apply to this new evolution.
Speakers include:
Ovetta Sampson, Alice Au Quan, Brooke Hopper, Jonathan Thai, and Niceaunties.
This event is open to the public and all SJSU students, faculty, and staff can attend for FREE.
