Communicative Disorders and Sciences Speech Services
Graduate students from SJSU Kay Armstead Center for Communication Disorders (below) evaluate and treat clients with various communication disorders under the direct supervision of nationally-certified and state-licensed speech-language pathologists and audiologists.
If you are interested in receiving speech services, please complete an application with the Kay Armstead Center for Communication Disorders.
Communicative Disorders and Sciences students (below) also conduct low-cost speech assessments for community members.
Occupational Therapy Workshops for Caregivers
The Occupational Therapy (OT) caregiver workshops are hosted by two occupational therapy doctoral students at the HDCC, who work with caregivers while their child is receiving speech services, providing education and encouraging self-efficacy on how to care for themselves and their child during everyday activities. Workshop topics are focused on providing more support in health management, parenting strategies for children with unique sensory profiles, and a need for connection to resources and social support.
