Meghna Virick
Dr. Meg Virick is Associate Dean of Undergraduate Programs and Professor of Management
at SJSU, specializing in Human Resource Management. She conducts research on HR practices
and employment related issues such as staffing, unemployment, underemployment, succession
planning, and gender diversity.
Shari Moore
Shari Moore is an experienced HR leader with an extensive track record as an HR executive.
Shari holds multiple certifications in HR, including SHRM–SCP, Senior Professional
in Human Resources, and Prosci Change Management.
Leslie Howard
Leslie is Head of Talent Management and Strategy at Square and SHRM-SCP. Having completed
IPP’s SHRM prep course at SJSU, Leslie shares her real-work experience and knowledge
of the SHRM certification process to help other participants achieve their career
goals.
Matthew Maguire, PhD
Dr. Matthew Maguire has a background in comparative political economy, business-government
relations, and corporate social responsibility. He has held visiting positions at
the Max Planck Institute for the Study of Societies in Cologne and the Institute for
Human Sciences in Vienna.
Nancy Da Silva, PhD
Dr. Nancy Da Silva is a professor of Management with fields of research in positive
psychology with a focus on employee creativity, innovation, and job engagement. She
also consults on survey development, validation of assessment tools, and statistical
analysis.
Nancy Long
Nancy Long is a highly accomplished global human resources executive. She has been
part of the executive leadership team at Hitachi Data Systems, was Senior VP of HR
for O’Connor Hospital in San Jose, and VP of HR at HP. Nancy has received several
industry awards, including HR Executive of the Year (HR Symposium, Silicon Valley).
Sumita Raghuram, PhD
With more than 30 years of teaching and research experience, Dr. Sumita Raghuram specializes
in virtual work, international human resource management, and tech workers. Employee
identity, employee turnover and engagement, wellbeing, and impact of tech work on
human resource management are of particular interest to Dr. Raghuram.
Lucille Headrick, PhD
Dr. Lucille (Lucy) Headrick is an assistant professor in the School of Management
at San José State University. She received her Ph.D. and Master’s degree in Human
Resources and Industrial Relations (H.R.I.R.) from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Her research examines psychological mechanisms of work stress on health-related behavior,
recovery, and work-life boundary management within various temporal and social contexts.
Aida Tannous
Aida is currently VP - HR and Staff Development at Premier One Credit Union with 13 years of experience in Head of Human Resources roles. Her career has taken her through a multitude of industries and her experience covers a wide range of HR practices such as talent acquisition, benefits, payroll and employee life cycle, and talent management. Aida graduated from San Jose State University and she is a proud founder of leadtohappy, an organization aimed at helping young professionals find their professional passions, their purpose and ultimate joy in the work they do.
Kobie Wagener
Kobie has managed workforce programs for a variety of Fortune 500 organizations and
holds an MS in Organization Development from the University of San Francisco. He completed
the Institute for People and Performance SHRM prep course at SJSU and enjoys bringing
SHRM concepts to life by delivering practical examples to the classroom and sharing
effective exam preparation strategies with students.
Nancy Holme
Nancy Holme is a distinguished HR executive with over 20 years of experience in various
human resources domains. Her expertise includes HR project management, talent acquisition,
mergers and acquisitions, corporate social responsibility, crisis management, and
strategic HR support. Nancy has worked with leading organizations such as Apple, IBM,
Google, AbbVie, Kaiser, ABM, and Lam Research. Her global experience encompasses setting
up Shared Services centers in Asia Pacific, Europe, and Latin America. As a SHRM Senior
Certified Professional and a PMI Project Management Professional (PMP), Nancy is dedicated
to teaching and mentoring others in preparing for and achieving these challenging
certifications.
