Major Advising

College of Science student are encouraged to meet with their assigned advisor every semester.

Lower Division students (0-59 earned units) complete major advising every semester with their assigned CoS-SSC Advisor.

Upper Division Student (60 or more earned units), complete major advising every semester with their Assigned Faculty Advisor.

Lower Division Major Advising Appointments

Connect with an advisor for a virtual or in-person appointment through the "Academic/Schedule Planning" service in Spartan Connect. 

Read the Spartan Connect Student Self-Service Appointment Scheduling Guide to learn how to schedule your major advising appointment. If you exceed the no-show limit for Spartan Connect you cannot schedule an appointment on your own.

College of Science Advising Canvas Course

Lower Division students are added to the College of Science Advising Canvas Course within their first Fall semester at SJSU.
