It was time to pitch her idea. In a black blazer and slacks, Jasmine Sanchez took her place next to a large LCD presentation screen, glowing bright blue with the logo for Vessel Athletics, the company she’s trying to launch. Outside the clear glass doors of the Idea Lab, the voices and footsteps of San Jose State students echoed in the corridor of the Diaz Compean Student Union. Entrepreneur Shares Path to Startup Success
Eric Migicovsky spoke in a fireside chat at an event put on by IDEAS and Silicon Valley Center for Entrepreneurship (SVCE). San Jose State Student Union Theater was filled with about 190 individuals – students, faculty and alumni.
“Just do it – there’s a million reasons why you shouldn’t but if you want to build something and you actually want something, then you should just build it,” Migicovsky said.
SJSU Hosts International Conference on Entrepreneurship at IIM Bangalore, India
San Jose State University, in collaboration with the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB), India, hosted an International Conference on Transnational Entrepreneurs in Emerging Economies at IIM Bangalore, May 20-22, 2015. The conference attracted 140 participants, mostly academics, but also entrepreneurs and policy makers from India as well as the US, UK, China, Nigeria, Pakistan, and the Philippines.

Director, Dr. Anu Basu was honored as an Outstanding Work2Future Partner as part of their annual Community Builder Awards program. The award acknowledged Dr. Basu's consistent support and participation in Work2Future’s small business support activities, including their annual Entrepreneurship and Innovation Summit and speaker events.

SVCE Receives Commendation from Mayor Chuck Reed
The Silicon Valley Center for Entrepreneurship (SVCE) received a commendation during the Tuesday, November 18, San Jose? City Council meeting for its "commitment to promoting innovation, entrepreneurship and the international visibility and economic vitality of the City of San Jose." Mayor Chuck Reed presented Dr. Anu Basu, director of SVCE, with the commendation which was read by Councilwoman Nancy Pyle.
