Center of Power Electronics Converters Laboratory

The Power Electronics lab is for research purposes and to serve both undergraduate and graduate student projects. This lab also supports the power electronic classes at both undergraduate and graduate levels. The Power Electronics lab supports the following research areas:

  • High power EVs off-board charging topologies to reduce the EVs charging time while extending the EVs range.

  • The design and development of EVs on-board power electronic architectures to enhance the EVs performance while increasing the storage device’s lifetime.

  • The development of photovoltaic (PV) power processing technologies for grid inverters and maximum power point trackers.

  • Power factor correction circuits for high power loads (e.g., EVs charging) and low power loads (e.g., LED drives).

  • The development of battery management system (BMS) efficient schemes for EVs and solar power applications.
