Gary Moskowitz teaches journalism writing and reporting courses at the UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism and the School of Journalism and Mass Communications at San Jose State University. He edits and mentors early-career journalists through the California Local News Fellowship program.
Moskowitz has written about music, arts, and culture for The New York Times, The Economist, San Francisco Weekly, TIME Magazine, KQED, GRAMMY.com, Reasons To Be Cheerful, The Daily Telegraph, Newsweek, Dazed & Confused Magazine, and other publications.

He has taught journalism writing and reporting courses at San Francisco State University, UCLA, Cal State East Bay, City University London, the London School of Journalism, and Mission High School in San Francisco.

Moskowitz is a former senior fellow at Mother Jones Magazine and covered education for Los Angeles Times community news publications in Glendale and Burbank, California.
