Senior Manager
B.S. Mechanical Engineering, 1996
Terry Mohr graduated from SJSU with B.S. in mechanical engineering in Dec 1996. He started his career at Cisco Systems working on the first generation of consumer routers and got his first taste of innovative consumer electronics. Shortly after that, Terry completed his education with an MBA from Santa Clara University and went to work at Hewlett Packard, developing a first-of-its-kind all-in-one PC with a touchscreen.
Terry was then recruited by MSFT to work on its second-generation Kinect product for Xbox One. From there, he was recruited to Amazon, where he’s been for 10 years.
It was there that Terry realized his true passion is in “version-zero” products, or first-of-its-kind. His first project was to work on a brand new initiative which would eventually be Amazon Go, the Just Walk Out Technology. Subsequently, Terry worked on an Alexa-enabled ring (Echo Loop). He is starting his 5th year as a Senior Manager of Technical Program Managers at Project Kuiper and leads the ASIC and the high-volume Customer Terminal Technical Program Management teams.
Originally from Taipei Taiwan, Terry now resides in Bellevue, Washington, and has been married for over 25 years to his wife, who is also an SJSU alumni, and has 2 daughters, ages 23 and 20.
