Spaces
Your Home Away from Home
At MOSAIC, our goal is to provide a space that students feel a sense of home and belongingness. Our students, staff, and faculty fellows all work hard to provide a space where folks feel like they can chat about anything and engage in dialogue about the world around them.
Located on level one of the Compean Diaz Student Union (right across from the university bookstore), MOSAIC is open Monday-Thursday 9:00am-6:00pm and Friday 9:00am-5:00pm. You will find many students, studying, hanging out, meditating/praying, and conversing about issues that affect our society in MOSAIC.
Front Desk
When you walk in, please scan or input your Tower ID. You can find out what is happening in MOSAIC by chatting with one of our friendly student assistants. This is also where you can request free prints and scantrons!
Mosaic Lounge
Find a comfy seat on a couch or pick a table to study, eat lunch or play a game! The lounge is open to all of our SJSU students and community.
Reserving the Mosaic Lounge
MOSAIC offers the front lounge area with flexible setup, which can accommodate up to 60 people. This space is used by Registered Student Organizations and campus departments for workshops, dialogue sessions, movie screenings, guest speakers, and more!

Reservations are available on a first-come, first-served basis in 1-hour time blocks at the top of every hour. Students may reserve up to four hours at a time. Please note that the conference room is unavailable when we are hosting events or having our staff meetings.

Prayer & Meditation Room
Mosaic offers a private, non-denominational prayer and meditation room that is open to our SJSU community members of all faiths and practices. The space is equipped with washing stations (wudu) as well!
As of Fall 2024, SJSU now has a new prayer space, complete with temporary washing stations and gendered facilities, located in the BBC complex. Tower Card is needed for keypad access. This space was a result of years of student, staff, and faculty advocacy for improved prayer and meditation facilities, and we are so excited that it finally open!
