Undergraduate Programs
Geography, BA
The Geography BA prepares students to understand the environment around us and interpret
human and non-human patterns across the Earth’s surface. The major allows flexibility
in course selection while providing a strong foundation in human, physical, and regional
aspects of the discipline. The degree also includes training in geographic information
systems (GIS), a skill that is highly coveted in many fields.
Global Studies, BA
Global challenges, now and in the future, cannot be easily understood from the perspective
of one discipline. Global Studies is an interdisciplinary program that examines world
issues holistically. Students learn how to communicate effectively and develop the
skills to explain, argue, and defend complex views from a variety of global perspectives. Students
have the opportunity to take classes in over a dozen different departments across
campus and are encouraged to study abroad.
Graduates of Geography and Global Studies programs work in the following fields:
- Environmental Impact Assessment
- International Relations
- Water Resources
- Environmental Regulation and Policy
- Government
