The California State University (CSU) Office of the Chancellor offers a variety of
funding opportunities across disciplines, through ten Multi-Campus Collaborations,
also known as Affinity Groups. SJSU faculty are encouraged to look for collaborations
via these Affinity Groups and monitor them for potential funding opportunities.
ARI works for California and its citizens through partnerships across the agricultural
industry and beyond. Through the colleges of agriculture on four CSU campuses and
allied disciplines across the CSU, ARI conducts applied research to ensure the sustainability
of California agriculture.
COAST is the umbrella organization for marine, coastal, and coastal watershed related
activities within the CSU. It promotes research and education to advance our knowledge
of marine and coastal resources, and the processes that affect them.
CSUPERB provides seed grant funding, organizes an annual biotechnology symposium,
supports biotechnology-relevant curriculum redesign efforts, and serves as a liaison
for the CSU with government, philanthropic, educational, and biotechnology industry
partners.
The Desert Studies Center is a 1200-acre field station established for the better
understanding and appreciation of the Mojave Desert, from alkali salt flats to Joshua
tree forest, from sand dunes to recent lava flows.
CSU Shiley Haynes Institute for Palliative Care provides high-quality education to
healthcare professionals and students, builds advocacy, and promotes research to advance
the care of persons living with serious illness and their communities.
Funded and administered by the College of Science at SJSU, MLML is a consortium of
seven CSU campuses with a beautiful facility on Monterey Bay. MLML has been dedicated
to excellence in the marine sciences for half a century.
OSI is a consortium of nine CSUs that decided to pool resources to explore the ocean
and coastal regions. It plays a key role in the Southern California Marine Institute
(SCMI) which seeks to improve scientific understanding and the development of solutions
that will enable coastal waters and watersheds to thrive, adapt and become resilient
ongoing environmental stressors.
STEM-NET promotes research, community building, and innovative educational ideas across
the CSU university system, and provides students the skills they need to excel in
the workforce of the future and meet the needs of California’s innovative and evolving
economy.
Founded in 2008 and composed of more than 250 water experts from throughout the 23
CSU campuses, WRPI is developing water management solutions through research, partnerships,
education, and training that provide students with hands-on learning.
