Seeking Input for Transitional Leadership, College Health and Human Sciences

Dear Colleagues,
As you know, Dean Shillington will transition away from her Dean role this summer. I want to provide everyone in the college the opportunity to provide me input on what sort of qualities and needs you have for interim leadership. As it is late in the semester, I ask that everyone provide me with input via this form. As this is a very busy week and I have to travel for work after the long weekend, I will also meet with the leadership of the college, Chairs and Directors and Dean’s Leadership Team, in early June to seek their additional input and discuss the process and timing for hiring interim leadership.
We will begin a full, national search for a permanent dean in the fall. I will provide more information on that search in August. As always, the search committee will include members of the faculty, staff, and students of the college as well as representation from campus leadership and the community. I look forward to launching that search as early as possible in September.
I am confident in the work of the colleagues in the College and while transitions can always be challenging, I am sure that everyone will continue to do amazing work over the next year. My goal is to identify transitional leadership that can help keep the momentum going in the College of Health and Human Sciences.
Sincerely,
Vincent J. Del Casino, Jr.
