Mindful Teaching Award

The CFETI Mindful Teaching and Learning Award was established in 2023 by longtime CFETI employee Elizabeth Tu to recognize faculty who incorporate mindfulness practice into the university classroom.

Mindfulness has profound benefits for student well-being, focus, and academic success. Each year we select two awardees, who receive a $1,000 stipend or $1,000 in professional development funds. In exchange, they contribute to our growing collection of effective strategies for engaging students in these practices.

Submissions may include, but are not limited to, how you engage students in the following:

  • Mindfulness Exercises: Describe specific mindfulness exercises or meditation techniques that you have successfully used to engage your students. Share the intended outcomes and experiences of your students.
  • Curriculum Integration: How have you seamlessly integrated mindfulness into your curriculum? Share your course design and content that promotes mindfulness learning.
  • Creative Activities: Present innovative activities, assignments, or projects that encourage mindfulness and self-reflection. Include any assessment methods used to evaluate their impact.
  • Technology and Resources: Highlight the digital tools, apps, or resources that have proven effective in enhancing mindfulness in your classroom.

Info on the 2024 cycle will be coming soon!
