About Professor Qiuhan Wang:

Dr. Qiuhan Wang earned her Ph.D. in Agricultural and Environmental Chemistry and M.S. in Forensic Science from the University of California, Davis. Before joining San Jose State University, she was a criminalist specializing in blood alcohol analysis at a California Department of Justice Crime Laboratory and testified in court as an expert witness. She has received a wide range of professional training in forensic science: fire death investigation, crime scene processing, and firearms and toolmarks examination. She presented her master’s research at the California Association of Criminalists annual meeting in 2015 and her doctoral research at the American Chemical Society conference in 2018. Her research focuses on detecting chemical adulterants in food and beverages to combat food fraud and drug-facilitated crimes, improving forensic alcohol interpretation through AI-driven impairment modeling, and applying computational methods to crime scene investigation.
