AdoptAI for Staff Training Program
AdoptAI for Staff is a university-wide initiative designed to ensure all non-faculty SJSU employees are equipped for the evolving digital landscape. As artificial intelligence becomes increasingly integrated into professional roles across all industries, San Jose State University is committed to delivering on President Teniente-Matson’s vision of #AIEverywhere. This program ensures that our staff members aren't just observers of this change, but active participants with the tools and knowledge required to succeed.
AI is rapidly becoming a standard component of our daily workflows. To ensure our community has the agency to navigate these changes effectively, SJSU IT has curated the AdoptAI Learning Path. This resource cuts through the noise of expensive or outdated external certifications to provide a baseline of generative AI literacy tailored specifically to the tools available at SJSU today. Move beyond the "what" of AI to the "how," applying these tools to enhance your day-to-day capabilities. Every course in the AdoptAI Learning Path is virtual and self-paced, enabling you to take the training when you can, where you want, and at your own speed.
AdoptAI Learning Path
The AdoptAI Learning Path is available through CSULearn and leverages training resources provided by the CSU Chancellor's Office and through LinkedIn Learning.
Both CSULearn and LinkedIn Learning can be accessed using your SJSU credentials. You can also connect your LinkedIn Learning account with your personal LinkedIn account to share any certificates you earn.
AdoptAI Additional Training
For those looking to continue their generative AI training journey, SJSU IT has curated a list of additional optional training.
"Everyday AI: 15 Practical Skills" consists of 15 challenges you can complete to apply your newfound training to hands-on projects.
OpenAI offers a number of self-guided "Prompt Packs" that walk you through a series of prompts. We recommend trying the “ChatGPT for any role,” “Prompt Pack for Administrators,” and “5 GPTs That Power Your Campus: Built for Staff & Administrators” exercises.
"Build AI Habits That Set You Apart" is a 45-minute conversation with Conor Grennan, CEO of AI Mindset and Chief AI Architect at NYU Stern School of Business, about building next-step AI habits.
Prize Drawings
Staff who completed at least one module of the AdoptAI Learning Path in CSULearn in any month between February 2026 and May 2026 were automatically entered into a drawing for a $25 gift card and three-month license for Gemini for Workspace.
